In the heart of the 13th arrondissement, between boulevard Auguste Blanqui and rue de Tolbiac, lies one of the best kept secrets of Paris: La Butte aux Cailles.

This small, perched village was annexed to Paris in 1860, but has since kept all its charm and its unique spirit. L'Echappée Belle, the company of guides and cultural mediators who help you discover Paris and its heritage in its most beautiful light, offers to take you on a tour of its cobbled streets to discover all its secrets.

During this one and a half hour walk, you will discover the atypical history of this hillock, on which a famous battle of the Paris Commune took place on May 24th and 25th 1871. Between the street-art works that adorn the walls, the small flowery houses, the sunny terraces and the lively squares, this micro-district has everything to please.
