The Musée de l'Orangerie, specializing in the painters of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, has a new programme of temporary exhibitions linked to its own collection.

This autumn, the museum in the Tuileries Gardens focuses on two singular artists: the Russian painter Soutine and the American abstract expressionist de Kooning who declared that his work was informed by Soutine.

The exhibition explores their affinities in a visual dialogue addressing themes dear to the two artists like the painting of the human body or figures and landscapes, while at the same time revisiting their workshops and key moments in their careers. A surprising and daring exhibition.
