‘Edvard Munch. A Poem of Life, Love and Death’: find out more about the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch

In collaboration with the Munch museum in Oslo, the Musée d’Orsay presents around one hundred works by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch: paintings, drawings, prints and exceptional engraved blocks. The retrospective covers 60 years of artistic creation, from the 19th to the 20th century.

Come and discover the artist’s singular and symbolic vision of the world. The creative process of the artist who painted The Scream was unique. The notion of cycles plays an important role with variations of the same motifs that reappear regularly in his work but also several versions of the same subject.

Inspired by the philosophers Friedrich Nietzsche and Henri Bergson, he created a complete œuvre in which humanity and nature are united in the cycle of life, death, and rebirth.
