Fashion designer Christian Louboutin unveils his loveliest shoes

Fashion designer Christian Louboutin was born in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. Since his childhood, he has marvelled at the wonders of the nearby Palais de la Porte Dorée. He took inspiration from the place to produce some of his most well-known works such as the famous ‘mackerel’ shoe, a reference to the fish at the Aquarium Tropical, and the Pigalle shoe.

Now world-famous for his stiletto shoes with their characteristic red soles, it was natural that he should choose this emblematic Parisian museum to exhibit some of his shoes, which are true works of art. In collaboration with David Lynch, Lisa Reihana, Whitaker Malem, Blanca Li, Imran Qureshi … the exhibition Exhibition[ist] reveals a whole range of skills and craftmanship through dance, literature, travel, cinema and pop culture.
