A walk around the world of the Opera through the works of Edgar Degas

To celebrate the 350th anniversary of the Paris Opera, the Musée d'Orsay is showing the exhibition ‘Degas at the Opera’.

In this exhibition, the first to treat the Opera as a whole, the visitor discovers a large number of paintings, drawings, sculptures and pastels by the artist, all painted at the Opéra Le Peletier and then later at the Opéra Garnier, including iconic works such as The Little Fourteen-Year-Old Dancer, Foyer de la Danse and La Loge.

A true passion, the works of Edgar Degas provide an insight into the convoluted inner world of the Opera at the beginning of the 20th century, with a focus on ballerinas, musicians and even the public. A comprehensive exhibition that pays tribute to one of France's greatest Impressionist painters.
