Discover the Francis Bacon exhibition.

Twenty-three years after the last major French exhibition, the Centre Pompidou devotes a new retrospective to Francis Bacon, one of the key artists of the 20th century.

This exhibition takes an original approach, highlighting Francis Bacon’s love for painting and literature. The works are presented in six main rooms and show works by the artist from 1971 – when he was at the height of his success, the year of the legendary retrospective at the Grand Palais – to his last works in 1992. In each room, voices recite texts by Nietzsche, Bataille, Eschyle, Leiris, Conrad, Eliot giving a new dimension to the Surrealist works of the British artist.
