The first royal palace in the capital and prison during the Revolution!
On the Île de la Cité, exceptional Gothic rooms of the first royal palace in Paris and reproduction of the prison cells of the revolutionary tribunal. At the end of the 17th century, numerous people were imprisoned in the prison of the Conciergerie, including Marie-Antoinette. Listed a historical building by Unesco. Exhibition ‘Paravents’ (‘Screens’) From 11 September to 29 November The visual artist and photographer Georges Rousse is exhibiting an installation work at the Salle des Gens d’Armes at the Conciergerie to familiarize the public with his unique works, which play with perspective and the notion of space. The exhibition ‘Paravents’ creates the impression of sails in front of which a ray of light crosses. Unaccompanied tour (undated ticket) : Price : 8.50 € Free admissions for minors under 18 and 18-25 years old citizens of one of the 27 countries of the EU. Two monuments in one !
