Hyperrealism, on show at the Musée Maillol, appeared in the 1960s in the United States with sculptures that sought to imitate the forms and textures of the human body.

The exhibition ‘Hyperrealism. This is not a body’ is a travelling exhibition. It arrives in France after showing in Bilbao, Canberra, Brussels, Rotterdam, Lyon, Monterrey, Rotterdam … The Parisian exhibition has been enriched and is in part unseen.

Some forty works depict hyper-realistic representations of humans over time. In addition to the works, the exhibition, designed with the assistance of the Mémorial de Caen, features interviews and videos of the artists at work.

PLEASE NOTE :
Reduced fares
are available directly at the museum for the following public : students, youth aged 19 to 25, senior citizens (over 65), disabled people and their companion, job seekers.

Access to the musée Maillol is free, upon presentation of proof, for: children under 6, journalists, ICOMOS or ICOM cardholders.

As part of the Vigipirate program security controls are put in place at the entrance of Parisian museums and monuments. In case of a large attendance, these controls can create a waiting time which cannot be skipped.
