Here is a quotation that perfectly sums up the vocation of the new Musée Méliès – extended and redesigned with an extra 300 m² - at the Cinémathèque Française. The Museum Méliès, with its many treasures, archives and other machinery, costumes, posters, drawings, models, and films, traces the history and richness of the art of filmmaking.
The place also devotes a great part of its collection to the work of Georges Méliès, the magician of cinema who inspired top international film directors such as Cocteau, Gondry, Wes Anderson, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, James Cameron and Tim Burton. A journey across time and space through film reels.
