Located in the Marais district in the heart of Paris, the Centre Pompidou is an iconic building in 20th century architecture, which offers its visitors a truly spectacular view over the entire capital and its most famous monuments: Notre-Dame, the Eiffel Tower and the Sacré Cœur.
Behind its metal structure and striking coloured pipes, the Centre Pompidou contains six floors, with areas dedicated to modern and contemporary art, live performance, cinema, the spoken word and young audiences. Its museum houses Europe's leading collection of modern and contemporary art: one of the largest in the world, with nearly 100,000 works. Here you can admire masterpieces by key artists of modern art – including Picasso, Kandinsky, Matisse, Chagall, Léger, Miró, Dalí, Dubuffet and Klein – and major figures in contemporary art.
