Exhibition ‘Joann Sfar - Salavdor Dalí, One Second Before Awakening’
From 9 September 2016 to 31 March 2017
The Espace Dali has given carte blanche to the artist Joan Sfar – who trained at the Beaux-Arts in Paris and who is the author of the famous comic book ‘The Rabbi’s Cat’ and the film ‘Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life’ – to create a scenario and drawings for an imagined encounter with Salvador Dalí.
Come and see this rich exhibition with more than 200 original drawings and sketches in the enchanted setting of the Espace Dalí, amidst works by the Spanish artist and the Haute Couture creations of Schiaparelli.
In the heart of the famous artists’ village of Montmartre, the Espace Dalí presents the biggest collection of works by Salvador Dalí in France.
The Espace Dalí collection is the result of the extravagant inspiration of this emblematic artist of Surrealism: theatrical sculpture, erotic, dreamy or irresistibly funny drawings, poetic objects and furniture populate the phantasmagorical world of the inventor of the ‘Soft Watches’.
Through a newly designed visit (redesigned in March 2016), discover the themes of immortality, the subconscious, science and love, so dear to Dalí, from an original angle.
